RULES & REGULATION
ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By registering for L’Étape San Bernardino by Tour de France 2026 (hereinafter, the “Event”), the participant acknowledges that they have read, understood, and fully accepted these Terms and Conditions, as well as the Official Event Rules.
Acceptance is mandatory in order to participate.
ORGANIZATION
The Event is organized by the local entity officially authorized by L’Étape by Tour de France, under international standards of safety, operations, and participant experience.
The organization reserves the right to modify any aspect of the Event to ensure its proper execution and safety.
NATURE OF THE EVENT
L’Étape San Bernardino is a non-professional road cycling gran fondo event designed for amateur cyclists.
The Event takes place on public roads that are closed to traffic and may involve variable conditions such as weather and terrain.
DISTANCES
The Event will include the following race formats:
- Long Distance: ~120–123 km
- Medium Distance: 68 km
- Short Distance: 28 km
The organization reserves the right to modify distances or routes for operational or safety reasons.
PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
By registering, the participant declares that they:
- Are of legal age or have parental/guardian authorization
- Are physically and medically fit to participate
- Have properly completed the registration process
- Accept the inherent risks of road cycling
The organization may request additional documentation if necessary.
LIABILITY WAIVER
The participant acknowledges and agrees that:
- Participation is at their own risk
- Road cycling involves risks including falls, accidents, and injuries
- They release the organization, sponsors, partners, and authorities from any liability for incidents, injuries, or damages
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Accidents during the race
- Adverse weather conditions
- Mechanical failures
MEDICAL CONDITIONS
The participant declares that they:
- Do not suffer from any medical condition that would prevent participation
- Have undergone any necessary medical evaluations
- Assume full responsibility for their health condition
The organization reserves the right to withdraw any participant deemed at risk.
MANDATORY EQUIPMENT
Participants must comply with the following at all times:
- Use of a certified helmet
- A bicycle in safe operating condition
- Clearly visible race number (bib)
The following are prohibited:
- E-bikes
- Any equipment that may endanger other participants
SAFETY AND CONDUCT
Participants agree to:
- Follow all course signage and safety instructions
- Comply with directions from staff and authorities
- Maintain respectful and sportsmanlike behavior
The following are strictly prohibited:
- Dangerous or aggressive behavior
- Littering outside designated areas
- Deviating from the official course
TIMING AND RESULTS
- The Event will use an official timing system
- Results will be based on recorded times
- The organization reserves the right to validate and adjust results
REGISTRATION AND PAYMENTS
- Registration is personal and non-transferable
- Transfers are not allowed without prior authorization
- Payments are non-refundable unless otherwise determined by the organization
CANCELLATIONS AND MODIFICATIONS
The organization reserves the right to:
- Modify routes, schedules, or event formats
- Cancel or postpone the Event
In the case of force majeure (including but not limited to weather, safety concerns, or government decisions), full refunds are not guaranteed.
IMAGE RIGHTS
Participants grant the organization the right to:
- Capture photos and videos during the Event
- Use such content for promotional, commercial, and communication purposes
Without entitlement to compensation.
DATA PROTECTION
Personal data will be used for:
- Event management
- Participant communication
- Promotional activities related to the Event
The organization commits to handling data in accordance with applicable regulations.
PENALTIES AND DISQUALIFICATION
Participants may be penalized or disqualified for:
- Violating event rules
- Failing to use mandatory equipment
- Unsportsmanlike conduct
- Not following the official course
AMENDMENTS TO TERMS
The organization reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time.
Any changes will be published through official Event channels.
APPLICABLE LAW
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Paraguay.
Any disputes shall be resolved by the competent authorities within this jurisdiction.
FINAL ACCEPTANCE
By completing registration, the participant confirms that they:
- Have read and understood these Terms and Conditions
- Agree to comply with all provisions
- Accept full responsibility for their participation
